In the outer part of the ports of Messina is Marina del Nettuno, which is protected by a floating concrete breakwater, a breakwater with a NNE direction, and a smaller sub-billow pier oriented mean to SSE. These barriers block the often very intense winds that hit the Strait of Messina.
To access the marina, boaters must call VHF channel 09 and wait for a service vehicle to arrive. A speed of 3 knots cannot be exceeded.
Moorings are made with floating aluminum pontoons, while docking is facilitated by fingers and there is no need to bottom the anchor or take the line from dead bodies. There is also 24-hour guaranteed mooring assistance for those who wish.
