The small fishing village of Playa de Santiago, in southern La Gomera, has a friendly port dedicated to commercial and sport fishing and sailing. It is an ideal port for small and medium-sized boats, although it can accommodate vessels up to 30 meters in length. It is worth mentioning that the marina bay in Puerto de Santiago is open to southern surfing and that its main breakwater measures 222 meters.
