Club Nàutic Llancà was founded on July 1, 1966 by a small group of water sports enthusiasts. At that date, Llancà did not have any kind of port facilities to accommodate boats, using the existing fishing fleet and the incipient national shelter sports fleet offered by the island “El Castellar,” there would be boats on the port beach or anchored to those in front. At the initiative of the Nautical Club, in the years following its founding, a small dry dock was built for sports boats, such as fishing professionals who until then had to avoid the sea by going to the nearby port of Port de la Selva.
In 2010, Club Nàutic Llancà carried out a total renovation of the docks and marshes that make up the sports basin in the port of Llancà. In 2017, Club Nautic Llancà was granted the concession to manage the port sports facility for the new 25-year period.
