Mersin Marina

Before the 1970s, Mersin used to be a stop for scheduled sea trips in Turkey. But after transport operators reduced their cruise destinations, Mersin is no longer a stop for scheduled trips. Instead, it should now be a stop for international yacht tourism.

The old marina, which was actually part of the port of Mersin, was insufficient for yacht traffic. While the old marina is now reserved for fishing boats, the new marina was built after 1994. In 2006, the operating rights were awarded to ERS İnşaat as part of a transfer-operation-construction project.

Facilities The marina has two breakwaters: the west breakwater is 1,140 m 3,740 feet and the leeward breakwater is 265 m (869 feet). There are two lighthouses, one for each breakwater. The area of the marina is 145,000 m 2 (1,560,000 sq ft), while the area of the enclosed water is 160,000 m 2 (1,700,000 sq ft). The total berth length of the marina is 2,500 m 8,200 feet, which allows 500 yachts to berth.
