Porto di Viareggio – Versilia

Viareggio: ports of Tuscany in Versilia

Located along the terminal section of the Burlamacca Canal, an outfall of Lake Massaciuccoli, the Viareggio marina consists of a forebay, between the breakwater and the north pier, and six docks for landing various types of boats

Outdoor and indoor docks and floating docks for boat mooring

  • New Dock: is located to the south, in the innermost area of the port basin.
It is reserved, mainly, for commercial-fishing boat traffic and has depths of about 3.5 meters.
They can moor, at the first section of the dock, recreational vessels under repair
  • Madonnina Dock: this is the port area dedicated to recreational sailing and motor boats.
The seabed has a depth of 3.5 meters.
Managed by Viareggio s.p.a. It contains 570 berths with a maximum length of 16 mt.
  • Darsena Italia is the hybrid area dedicated for a part of it to the landing of pleasure boats, and in art to shipyards.
The entrance is attrvarso the Darsena Europa.
  • Europa Dock: docked, for mooring of recreational vessels.
    The depths are 3.5 meters.
It is accessed directly from the outer harbor.
Some areas are reserved for Port Authority, Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza boats.
    Maximum boat length: 80 mt.
  • Darsena Toscana: Maestri d’Ascia and Calafati dock, operated by Lencisub, dedicated to pleasure boats from 11 to 14 meters and the Borbone dock intended for motor fishing boats.
    The depths are 3 mt.
  • Lucca dock: small boats can dock here.

About 80 berths are reserved for boats in transit.

Between the months of May and September, 95% of transits are concentrated.
It is therefore strongly recommended to book berths in ports in good time.

Anchorages in anchorages outside the port

There is the possibility, should the need arise, to drop anchor outside the ports.
Due to breakers that form with quadrant III and IV seas, anchoring the boat off the ports, about 1 mile, is recommended.

Accessing the ports of Viareggio

Pass 1000 mt.
North from the light in the North position and continue in the direction of the center of the mouth.
Limited to the mouth area, it is recommended to maintain a course between the center of the mouth and the red light and pay close attention to the depth of the seabed.

Throughout the port basin, the seabed ranges, on average, from 3 to 5 meters deep.
