Speciale METS: Taking Master, quando è ora di virare te lo dice l’orologio

Al Mets di Amsterdam non poteva mancare una delle novità che in questo 2015 ha fatto gola ai velisti di tutto il mondo. Si tratta di Taking Master, una sorta di orologio che funziona in modo analogico con due ghiere che in modo molto intuitivo vengono ruotate a seconda delle variazioni del vento. Il quadrante dell’orologio offre una visione d’insieme per valutare in tempo reale i cambiamenti di direzione necessari in funzione dei salti di vento.

Il funzionamento di questo prodotto ideato dalla società danese ID/FX, è molto semplice ed è esemplificato nell’immagine qui sotto in cinque step.

Il primo passo consiste nel far ruotare la corona  su cui la direzione del vento è raffigurata da una grande freccia nera. Le andature sono rappresentate dalle barche rosse per le mure a sinistra e verdi per quelle a dritta.

Il secondo passo consiste nel ruotare in senso anti orario la ghiera rossa. Così facendo si allenta la pressione sulla ghiera bianca in modo che possa essere regolata.

Terzo step: regolazione della ghiera bianca per impostare il valore della direzione del vento.

Il quarto passo consiste nel portare la freccia indicata sulla ghiera nera in direzione della boa o del punto che si vuole raggiungere.

Quinto e ultimo passo: si blocca l’impostazione ruotando in senso orario la ghiera rossa e si è pronti a partire.
