Spinning al barracuda, la scelta delle esche
Lo spinning al barracuda. Possiamo senza dubbio dire che il barracuda, rispetto a prede piรน selettive come la spigola, puรฒ essere insidiato con molte esche differenti. Quando il pesce รจ in caccia, sono infatti molti gli artificiali che vanno bene. Lo stesso non si puรฒ dire perรฒ quando il pesce รจ, passatemi il termine, “concentrato” su determinati tipi di foraggio, o quandoย lo spot รจ parecchio battuto e i predatori diventano di riflesso molto piรน diffidenti.
In linea di massima, un eccellente artificiale รจ rappresentato dai long jerk, compresi in media tra 17 e 19 cm. Sarร forse perchรจ spesso il suo pesce foraggio รจ costituito da branchi di aguglie? Forse sรฌ, ma non ci giurerei. Sta di fatto comunque che un artificiale long spesso รจ un’ottima scelta, sia se scelto di colorazione naturale, sia se realizzato con colorazioni di reazione, come ad esempio i minnow bianchi con dorso arancio o giallo fluo.
Ci sono giornate, invece, che a fare “strage di cuda” sono minnow molto piรน corti, tra i 10 e i 15 cm, forse perchรจ il foraggio in quella giornata รจ rappresentato da piccoli muggini, occhiate, sugharelli o salpe. Eโ comunque certo che, nella nostra cassetta degli artificiali, non possiamo avere solo long jerk. Spesso, quando ad essere molto funzionali sono i piccoli minnow, colorazioni valide sono il bianco, come anche le tinte naturali: per esempio, grigio o azzurro, magari con parti specchiate.
Prevediamo sempre il cambio delle ancorette alle nostre esche, poichรจ i grossi barracuda hanno molta forza nelle mandibole e, specie durante la prima fuga (spesso esageratamente potente e veloce) รจ facile che le ancorette deboli si aprano. L’attacco avviene spesso lateralmente, quindi prevediamo ancorette robuste e a gambo piรน lungo, che riescano a oscillare bene, distanziandosi dal corpo dell’artificiale, riuscendo quindi ad allamare con facilitร il pesce. Ancorette troppo piccine, e dal gambo corto, a volte subiscono un “effetto ombra” da parte del corpo del minnow, e non riescono a ferrare facilmente il predatore.
Spinning al barracuda, tecniche di recupero dell’esca e … del pesce
Anche se il barracuda ha uno scatto fulmineo, non ama molto i recuperi troppo veloci. Spesso si fa ingannare da richiami dell’esca lenti, alternati da numerosi stop and go: passare da recuperi lenti e lineari a jerkcate ravvicinate, e strappate repentine, puรฒ aiutare molto.
Ricordiamo che subito dopo l’attacco il barracuda, specie se grande, tende a concentrare tutte le sue forze nelle primissime fughe, perciรฒ, tariamo bene le frizioni poichรฉ ogni piccolo sbaglio potrebbe risultare fatale.
A velocissime fughe della preda si possono alternare momenti in cui il barracuda ci viene incontro ad alta velocitร , riuscendo ad allentare il filo. Quando accade ciรฒ, i piรน inesperti potrebbero pensare che il pesce si sia slamato: non รจ cosรฌ. Perciรฒ, cerchiamo di recuperare sempre a grande velocitร , cercando di non perdere mai il contatto con il barracuda.
Facendo spinning al barracuda dalla barca non c’รจ bisogno di lanci estremi, poichรฉ spesso riusciamo ad avvicinarci molto allo spot di pesca. Fra l’altro il barracuda non รจ un pesce che si spaventa facilmente a causa della presenza del nostro natante, anzi, capita spesso che l’attacco avvenga a pochissimi metri da noi, perciรฒ, occhi aperti fino all’ultimo giro di mulinello in fase di recupero.
Ovviamente, pescando dalla barca i combattimenti sono molto agevolati, quindi possiamo permetterci di impiegare attrezzi piรน leggeri per esaltare al massimo, e rendere piรน sportiva, la nostra sfida con il pesce.
