Tartarughe marine, ecco il primo centro di recupero nel Lazio

 

Ieri 1ยฐ giugno 2015 nel parco acquatico Zoomarine si รจ tenuta l’inaugurazione del Centro di Recupero Tartarughe Marine del Lazio, il primo esempio di ospedale nella regione.

Questo “ospedale” si pone come obiettivo quello di monitorare e soccorrere tutti gli esemplari che transitano sulle coste laziali, che si estendono su una superficie che supera i 300 chilometri.
Alle attivitร  del nuovo pronto soccorso รจ stata dedicata appositamente un’area di 150 mq, con vasche di varie dimensioni, alcune delle quali possono raggiungere i 2000 litri di capienza. Il personale che opererร  in questo nuovo presidio รจ altamente specializzato ed ha giร  esperienza nelle procedure di pronto intervento per il soccorso delle tartarughe spiaggiate.

Il nuovo posto di soccorso di questi animali acquatici si colloca all’interno di un programma per la salvaguardia di questa specie promosso dall’Assessorato Ambiente della Regione Lazio e dal parco Zoomarine, che ospita fisicamente il nuovo centro.

Dalla collaborazione tra i due organismi era giร  nato il TartaLazio, un’organizzazione volta al soccorso e alla sistemazione delle tartarughe marine in difficoltร , che vede la partecipazione di tutti gli organismi competenti in materia di salvaguardia costiera e protezione marina, come la Guardia Costiera, la Capitaneria di Porto e il Ministero dell’Ambiente.

Le tartarughe marine sono spesso vittime dell’inquinamento marino e di comportamenti umani poco responsabili adottati nello svolgimento di attivitร  di pesca e durante la navigazione.
